MEDITERRANEAN - Red Sea, Egypt
DAY 1: HURGHADA
Embarkation from Hurghada. Stay in Hurghada for one day where guests can pass the day enjoying the beautiful waters, going swimming and taking part in fishing or trolling. Spend the night in Hurghada and enjoy a night out for cocktails at one of the many pubs and clubs available to all who visit.
(NOTE: Can embark from Port Said. If so, one can spend the day, prior to embarkation, in Cairo where one can embrace the opportunity to visit the breathtaking pyramids. After embarkation from Port Said, we will travel all day in the Suez Canal and after travelling over night we reach Hurghada.)
DAY 2: HURGHADA – SAFAGA (~47 NM)
Travel to Safaga (Kiriazis Intercontinental Marina) where we will stay overnight. We will also have the opportunity to visit the city of Luxor, Southern Egypt which has been characterized as the ‘world’s greatest open air museum’ due to the fact that it is the site of the ancient Egyptian city of Thebes. Embrace the opportunity to explore the many rich, historical features of this beautiful city; in particular the Luxor Temple.
DAY 3: SAFAGA – SAHL HASHEESH BAY (~25 NM)
Cruise to Sahl Hasheesh Bay which offers clear waters and pristine beaches; enjoy a fabulous meal on board prepared by your exquisite chef, or take a more active approach to the day and take the opportunity to swim close to the marvellous coral reefs.
DAY 4, 5: SAHL HASHEESH BAY – EL GOUNA (~38 NM)
After having spent the night at Sahl Hasheesh Bay, we cruise to El Gouna marina where we will spend two days. The town of El Gouna is built on 10 km of beach and spreads across islands and lagoons. Relax on the sandy beaches under the warming sun or experience the sensational waters whilst making the most of the excellent services that the town boasts.
DAY 6, 7: EL GOUNA – SHARM EL SHEIKH (~50 NM)
Cruise to Sharm el Sheikh where we will stay for two days. (It is also possible to stay for an additional 2 days if desired) There are plenty of activities to partake in and there are also vast amounts of sightseeing to be done. Don’t miss Saint Catherine’s Monastery, a Greek Orthodox monastery which is one of the oldest working Christian monasteries in the world. This monastery possesses some of the earliest icons in existence.
DAY 8: SHARM EL SHEIKH – EILAT, ISRAEL (~106 NM)
SHARM EL SHEIKH – PETRA, JORDAN (~106 NM)
Our final stop, we will cruise to Eilat, Israel or Petra, Jordan depending on the desired location of disembarkation. In Eilat one has the chance to visit Jerusalem and swim with dolphins in their natural habitat at a magnificent dolphin reef resort. Note that in Eilat you can also use the jet skis, where as in Egypt their use is prohibited. Alternatively, disembarkation can be at the historic and archaeological city of Petra, Jordan.
All travel distances are 2-4 hours; apart from the travel time to Eilat which is 8 hours navigation.
You will have the opportunity to swim close to the reefs, go fishing and go trolling on all days.
